Hello Blog! I'm back. This week, i started thinking about genres or ideas about the film opening. Since me and one of my friends work at a gymnastics center, so we got inspired to do something related to gymnastics. Now that i have something in mind, i believe choosing either a coming of age or drama film could suit this idea perfectly.

Characteristics of a coming of age film.

In a coming of age film the main character is usually under the age of 18 or simply just a teenager going through some major changes. The film tends to show how they face challenges and grow up. As the story continues the main character learns plenty of things and by the end is a whole different person from where they started. 

A good coming of age film needs to have a very clear message and accurate character growth. This can be shown by the setting, costume, and color scheme the character is surrounded by or even wearing, it can also be. determined from how the character is acting. The goal is to make the audience like the main character and root for them.

Characteristics of Drama:

Dramas usually have a lot of conflict on the main character or to people surrounding the main character. They usually have a clear plot and are driven by characters who are going through emotional struggles. Dramas often exaggerate situations to make everything feel more intense A good drama needs well developed characters, and things like costumes, props, lighting, and music( mis- en-scene) which help bring them to life. Details like these help the audience feel more connected to the characters.

For a Drama film to be really good it would also need a strong believable plot, and really good acting. If the plot isn't good, the story wont make much sense. And if the acting isn't good the story wont seem believable. Drama can also explore many topics such as love, family,or personal challenges aswell. But when drama does't do well, it's usually because the plot feels weak or the acting isn't convincing.
